Oriental Rug Runners

Runners are among the most practical rugs in any collection — and among the hardest to find well. Most rug stores carry a narrow selection of standard sizes. We carry over 100 runners at any given time, ranging from under 8 feet to over 14 feet, in widths from 2 to 5 feet.

The construction is the same as any hand-knotted Oriental rug: wool pile on a cotton foundation, natural dyes, double-knotted for durability. A runner in a high-traffic hallway or on a staircase needs to hold up to daily use for decades. Machine-made alternatives don’t.

Our runner selection includes Turkish Oushak runners with the soft, luminous palette that works in almost any interior; Kilim runners in bold geometric patterns; Vintage and antique runners with patina that a new rug can’t replicate; and Kazak runners with the deep reds and strong geometry of the Caucasian tradition.

Every runner in the gallery is listed with exact measurements. If you’re working with an unusual dimension — a narrow hallway, a curved staircase, an entry that’s longer than standard — come in or call. We measure what we have and we’ll tell you what fits.
